Veteran actor, Alex Usifo has opened up on the reasons why the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood is facing several challenges.
According to the actor, both money and good scripts are the reasons Nollywood has been having serious issues.
The actor claimed;
”If you ask me, Nollywood is getting bigger, the only thing is you may complain that the stories are not the way they used to be. When people complain about Nollywood, they complain of the stories and the kind of people they see.
“Maybe a lot of us, when we are given scripts and we don’t like the story, we can tell them we don’t want to be part of it.
And on their part, they can’t afford us so they settle for less and these things affect good production, because you may have a good story but don’t have the kind of money to pay artistes, equipment, right locations, good direction, good cameramen. So, if some aspects are not right, it will affect your story.”
The veteran actor recently completed his PhD programme at Babcock University Ogun State
